The Miss America pageant has always been about beauty, glitz, and stunning gowns. However, Kelly Johnson, one of the contestants, did something that got a lot of attention.
Kelley, who was speaking for Colorado, wore nursing scrubs when she got on stage. A lot of people were surprised by the beautiful young woman’s outfit when Kelly gave a speech about her time as a nurse with an elderly Alzheimer’s patient.

As of 2015, Kelly had earned a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Grand View University. She now works as a registered nurse. She was the top student in her nursing class and graduated first.
