When Ethan walked out of the bathroom, I confronted him immediately.

He shrugged while pulling clothes from the closet.

“I’ll send money,” he said. “But Sabrina makes me feel alive again. Look at yourself, Natalie. When was the last time you cared about how you looked?”

That night he packed a suitcase and walked out.

I spent hours crying after the kids went to sleep, wondering how everything I believed in could disappear in a single evening.

The next morning, I forced myself to get up and make breakfast for the children.

About an hour later, my phone rang.

It was our friend Daniel, who still worked with Ethan.

He sounded breathless.

“Natalie, get in your car right now and come to the office,” he said.

“What happened?”

“You won’t believe it,” he replied. “Ethan just walked in with that trainer… and five minutes later the CEO called security.”

I grabbed my keys and drove straight to Ethan’s office.

When I arrived, a crowd had already gathered near the entrance. Employees stood in small groups, whispering and staring toward the lobby.

I spotted Daniel and rushed over.

“What happened?” I asked.

He shook his head. “You missed the beginning.”

Apparently Ethan had walked into the building that morning holding hands with Sabrina, acting like nothing had changed. He even introduced her to a few coworkers as if she belonged there.
