Perfect Apple Pie – Bake 2 Trays at Once: More Apples Than Dough
We’re making a delicious homemade apple pie with just a few simple ingredients.
Ingredients for the pie:
- Apples – 5
- Walnuts – 50 g
- Eggs – 2
- Sugar – 180 g
- Vanilla – 1 g
- Sour cream – 200 g
- Flour – 120 g
- Baking powder – 1 teaspoon
- Salt – ⅓ teaspoon
Preparation method:
- In a bowl, crack the eggs, add the sugar, and mix well until the sugar is fully dissolved. Add the sour cream, vanilla, and salt, and stir the ingredients together.
- Combine the flour with the baking powder, then sift them into the egg mixture and incorporate to create a smooth batter.
- Peel the apples, core them, and chop them into small cubes.
- Line the baking tray with parchment paper and pour ⅔ of the batter onto the bottom of the tray, spreading it evenly.
- Arrange a layer of apples on top of the batter.
- Grind the walnuts into coarse pieces and sprinkle them over the apple layer. Pour the remaining batter over the apples.
- Bake the pie at 180°C (356°F) for 35-40 minutes.
- Once baked, sprinkle the pie with powdered sugar.
