One of my twins got sick, so I took them both in for tests

“One of my twins got sick, so I took them both in for tests. The next day, I went to pick up the results alone, and the doctor asked me how long ago I adopted the boys! Imagine my shock.

My jaw dropped. “”Adopted? My wife would never lie to me!”” The doctor placed his hand on my shoulder. “”Sorry, but the DNA results don’t lie.

They’re not your sons! But that’s not all; there’s something even more shocking!”” I was stunned. “”What could possibly be worse?””

The doctor’s words will haunt me forever, “”THESE BOYS ARE YOUR HALF-BROTHERS.”” I nearly fainted, but I knew I needed answers. I went straight home, found my wife, and asked her one question: “”DID YOU SLEEP WITH MY FATHER, NANCY?!”

Nancy’s face went pale, her eyes wide with shock. Her mouth opened, but no words came out. I watched her struggle to find an explanation, her hands trembling.

“Nancy,” I said, my voice cold and sharp. “Answer me.”

She took a step back, her back hitting the wall. Her eyes filled with tears. “I… I can explain…”

My heart was pounding so loudly I could barely hear her. “I just found out that my sons are my half-brothers. My father’s children. Tell me it’s not true.”

Her knees buckled, and she sank to the floor, her face crumbling as she began to sob. “I didn’t mean for it to happen… I swear.”

I felt my stomach turn, my fists clenching. “You slept with my father? You… you had children with him?”

She looked up at me, her face drenched in tears. “It was a mistake. It was before we were even married. I was young, confused… he was there for me when I felt alone. But it only happened once. I swear, only once!”

I stumbled back, my mind spinning. “And you never thought to tell me? You let me believe they were mine. You lied to me. For years.”

She broke down, her body shaking. “I was ashamed! I didn’t know how to tell you. And then we got married, and you were so happy. You loved them so much… I didn’t want to ruin everything.”

I felt sick. “So you just… pretended? You let me raise my own brothers without ever telling me the truth?”

She reached out to me, her voice desperate. “I thought they’d be better off with you as their father. You’re such a good dad. I couldn’t take that away from them.”

I pulled away, my heart breaking. “And my father? Did he know?”

Her face fell, her voice breaking. “Yes. He knew.”

My blood ran cold. “He knew? He’s known this whole time?”

She nodded, guilt written all over her face. “We agreed never to speak of it. He didn’t want to ruin your life. He… he thought it was better this way.”

I felt my world shatter. My father. The man I trusted more than anyone. He looked me in the eye for years, knowing I was raising his children, my own half-brothers. He watched me call them my sons. And he said nothing.

I sank to the floor, my head in my hands. “I… I don’t know how to process this. You both lied to me. You both betrayed me.”

Nancy crawled towards me, her hands clasping mine. “Please… I know what I did was unforgivable. But I love you. We’re a family. Please don’t take them away from me. Don’t hate them because of my mistake.”

I looked at her, my chest tightening. “I could never hate them. They’re innocent. But you… and him… you destroyed me.”

I stood up, my legs shaking. “I need time. I need to think.”

She sobbed, her face crumpling. “Please… don’t leave.”

But I couldn’t stay. Not after everything she’d done. Not after everything he had done.

I walked out the door, the weight of her betrayal crushing me. I didn’t know where to go, who to turn to.

But I knew one thing. I was never coming back.
