MY DAD JUST WOKE UP FROM A COMA, SAYING HE HEARD EVERYTHING IN THE HOSPITAL ROOM & EXPOSING MY WFE.
The day we’d prayed so hard for had finally come! My dad woke up after a year in a coma. Our whole family gathered around him, bringing flowers and balloons.
He looked weak, but his eyes were filled with happiness.
Me: “Dad, how was it? Did you have dreams or just nothing?”
Him: (slowly pronouncing each word) “Not only dreams, son… I heard EVERYTHING that happened in this room.”
Everyone gasped.
Him: “There’s something you need to know about your wife. She’s not what you think she is.”
I looked at Leah, who had gone pale.
Him: (continuing) “Once, she came here—without you.”
Him: (continuing, his voice steady but weak) “She was here late one night. I could hear her talking… and crying. At first, I thought she was just worried about me, about you… but then she said something that made my heart drop.”
The room fell into a tense silence. Leah’s face turned even paler as everyone turned their attention to her.
Me: “Dad, what did she say?”
Him: “She was apologizing… but not to me. She was apologizing to you. She said she didn’t deserve you, that she made a mistake. And then… then a man walked in.”
Gasps erupted from the room. I froze, struggling to process his words.
Me: “A man? Who was it?!”
Him: “I don’t know his name, but they hugged… and I could feel the guilt in her voice when she said, ‘I should’ve ended this long ago.'”
Leah: (interrupting) “Wait! It’s not what you think!”
Me: “Then what is it, Leah? Who was he? What mistake were you talking about?”
Leah: (tears streaming down her face) “It’s not like that, I swear! I… I was overwhelmed. I made a mistake, yes, but it wasn’t… it wasn’t what it sounds like!”
Him: (interrupting again, his voice gaining strength) “She said, ‘I wish I had never let this go on for so long.’ Son, you need to know the truth.”
I felt my chest tighten as I looked at Leah, her eyes pleading with me to believe her.
Me: “Tell me the truth, Leah. Right here. Right now.”
Leah: (sobbing) “It was my ex… he came to see me once. I didn’t invite him, I didn’t want him there! He heard about your dad and thought I needed someone to talk to. I told him to leave, I swear! I told him it was a mistake to even come here.”
Me: “But why didn’t you tell me? Why hide it?”
Leah: “Because I knew how it would look! I didn’t want to hurt you or make you think I… I still had feelings for him. I don’t! I love you, only you.”
The room was thick with tension. My dad’s piercing gaze shifted between me and Leah.
Him: “Son, all I know is what I heard. It’s up to you to decide what to do with it.”
I stood there, torn between my father’s words and my wife’s tearful explanation. Had she truly been hiding something from me, or was this a misunderstanding blown out of proportion?
The once joyful room now felt like a battlefield, with the weight of the truth—or lies—crushing down on all of us. And I knew that this moment would change everything.
