Kirk Medas, known for his role on MTV’s reality series Floribama Shore, has passed away at the age of 33. He died on May 2, 2025, after battling a severe case of necrotizing pancreatitis, which led to liver failure.
Medas was hospitalized in Miami in mid-April and spent over two weeks in the intensive care unit on a ventilator.
His condition was further complicated by sepsis, and despite medical efforts, he succumbed to the illness.
Aimee Hall, Medas’s co-star, shared a heartfelt tribute, recalling a moment at the beach where she felt a spiritual connection with him before learning of his passing. She described him as “the glue that held us all close” and remembered his kind soul and infectious laughter.
Medas rose to fame in 2017 as part of the original cast of Floribama Shore, appearing in all four seasons until 2021.
He was known for his humor, warmth, and the strong bonds he formed with his castmates. Beyond the show, he made appearances on other MTV programs, including Fear Factor and Wild ‘n Out .
In the weeks leading up to his hospitalization, Medas shared inspirational messages on social media, reflecting on personal growth and his efforts toward self-improvement. He expressed gratitude for his journey and the support of his fans.
A GoFundMe campaign was established by his family to assist with medical expenses and has since been updated to cover funeral costs. The page highlights the financial challenges faced due to the lack of medical insurance and expresses deep appreciation for the outpouring of support from fans and friends.
MTV released a statement mourning the loss, saying, “We are deeply saddened to learn of the tragic passing of Kirk Medas, a beloved member of the Floribama Shore family. Our hearts go out to his family, friends, and fans during this difficult time”.
Medas’s untimely death has left a void in the hearts of those who knew him, both on and off-screen. He is remembered for his vibrant spirit, compassionate nature, and the joy he brought to many.
