The reality TV community is mourning the loss of a young star whose journey touched audiences around the world.
Dolly Martinez, known for her appearance on Season 10 of My 600-Lb. Life, has died at the age of 30, according to her family.
Her sister, Lindsey Cooper, confirmed the news in an emotional social media post, describing Martinez as someone with a “bright personality” who brought warmth and joy to those around her.
Martinez rose to public attention through the hit TLC series, which documents the struggles of individuals dealing with severe obesity and their efforts to improve their health. During her episode, she openly shared her battle with food addiction and mental health challenges, describing food as her “go-to” coping mechanism.

At the time of filming, Martinez weighed nearly 600 pounds and relied on supplemental oxygen. She moved to Houston in hopes of qualifying for bariatric surgery under Dr. Younan Nowzaradan. Although she managed to lose around 40 pounds, she was ultimately not approved for the procedure.
In the days leading up to her death, Martinez had reportedly been hospitalized and was “fighting for her life,” according to family members.
Later reports revealed that her death was linked to congestive heart failure, following complications involving fluid buildup around her heart and lungs.
Her passing has sparked an outpouring of grief online, with fans remembering her honesty, vulnerability, and strength in sharing her struggles publicly.

Martinez is one of several former participants from the long-running series who have died, highlighting the serious and often life-threatening health challenges faced by those featured on the show.
Her family has asked for privacy as they grieve, while fans continue to pay tribute to her life and journey.
