In his first full month in office, Trump highlighted a dramatic reduction in illegal border crossings,

citing figures from U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) that showed only 8,326 apprehensions of illegal immigrants at the southern border—a historic low compared to previous administrations.

This bold proclamation, according to Trump, is evidence that his aggressive border security measures are yielding remarkable results.

At the height of the Biden administration, CBP reported as many as 301,981 encounters in a single month in December 2023—a figure that Trump said has now plummeted by 96% under his policies
