The entertainment world is mourning the loss of a rising talent, as actor and comedian Alex Duong has died at the age of 42 following a devastating illness.
Duong passed away after a year-long battle with a rare and aggressive cancer known as alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma, a disease that affects soft tissue.
According to those close to him, his condition worsened rapidly in the final days when he went into septic shock, a life-threatening complication that ultimately led to his death.
He died surrounded by loved ones, including his wife, Christina, and their 5-year-old daughter, Everest, whom he was able to say goodbye to before passing.

Duong had been diagnosed in early 2025 after experiencing alarming symptoms such as eye swelling and vision loss. Despite undergoing intensive treatments including chemotherapy and radiation, the cancer spread aggressively, causing severe complications including pain and seizures.
Best known for his appearances on shows like Blue Bloods and Jeff Ross Presents Roast Battle, Duong built a respected career in both television and stand-up comedy. He also appeared in series such as Dexter, Everybody Hates Chris, and The Young and the Restless.
Colleagues and friends have remembered him not only for his comedic talent, but for his resilience and positive spirit throughout his illness. A fundraiser launched during his battle has since been redirected to support his family and help secure his daughter’s future.

Despite facing serious health and financial challenges during his treatment, Duong remained committed to his craft and family, continuing to inspire those around him with his strength and humor.
His death marks a heartbreaking loss for the comedy and acting communities, cutting short a career that was still on the rise.
Duong is remembered as a devoted husband, a loving father, and a performer who brought laughter to audiences even during his darkest days.
