Kate Kaufling was a well-liked student at her college.

The nursing student’s classmates at the Kentucky school are heartbroken by the news of her death.

What did Kate Kaufling do?
Kate Kaufling was born in 2003 and went to college.

WKYT, a CBS affiliate, says Kate was a sophomore and a nursing student.

Aside from school, she was known for being in the school dance team and the Tri Delta sorority chain.

Abbey, her twin sister, was on the dance team too.

What caused Kate Kaufling’s death?
Kate Kaufling passed away after a long battle with osteosarcoma. She was 20 years old.

According to more information from WKYT, Kate was told she had bone cancer on June 2, 2023.

The Kauflings, her parents Holly and Steve, and her twin sister Abbey will miss her.

In a sad Instagram post, Abbey remembered her late sister.

It said, “My sweet Kate, you were my person.” As a person, you were my safe space.

“Everyone who knew Kate knows what a beautiful person she was.” Every day, someone brings up one of the million ways Kate made every room she entered.

What school did Kate Kaufling go to?
The second year of college for Kate Kaufling was The University of Kentucky.

Sandy Bell, the university’s executive associate athletics director, said something in a statement after Kate’s death.

She said, “Kate was not only a great dancer, but also a great student in the College of Nursing who took her work very seriously.”

“Kate kept up with her studies even while she was getting treatment for cancer. She was an amazing example for her teammates.” Everyone who knew Kate loved her, and she will be missed a lot.

Dawn Walters, the head dance coach at our school, said, “Kate was a joy to coach and be around.”

“Her smile could light up a room, and everyone on the UKDT loved her.” We are all very sad about Kate’s death.
