Elvis Presley’s 1962 Private Jet Is Up For Auction – Here’s How It Looks Inside

Elvis Presley was well-known for more than only his amazing musical career and distinctive voice, which awed crowds across the globe.

Additionally, he was a fashion and culinary expert (blue suede shoes, anyone?)

Some people might not be aware that the rock star was also an expert in design. As an illustration, consider the well-known private plane of the King of Rock.

Elvis Presley bought his own plane in 1962 and had it modified to his preferences.

Just the carpet, mahogany paneling, and crimson velvet chairs reveal how luxurious the space is.

Elvis didn’t utilize the Lockheed Jetstar model airplane he had owned for almost three decades until his passing in 1977. It was then positioned as a tourist attraction on a road near Roswell, New Mexico, USA.

But a telephone bidder who claimed to be an Elvis lover just won the plane at an auction in Florida for $260,000.

Elvis Presley and his father, Vernon Presley, were in the aircraft as it first rose above the clouds.

The plane is still in the same location in New Mexico more than three decades after Elvis’ tragic passing. If you look closely, you’ll see that the exterior of the plane has a muted red tint. However, considering its age, the plane is in surprisingly decent shape.

Have a peek inside… I don’t mind a long flight in this jet, to put it simply. I had a very specific idea of how the King of Rock would dress.

The seats are covered in plush crimson velvet, and the walls are paneled with wood.

There is plenty of space for people, and the seating appears to be of excellent quality. A tiny kitchen is located behind the main room.

Consider the microwave as an example. I seriously doubt it is still functional given how old it is. Imagine Elvis getting up from his chair, going into the kitchen, and putting the legendary Elvis sandwich—a combination of peanut butter, mayonnaise, crispy bacon, and banana—in the microwave. Reject the past!

Visit the bathroom! There should, of course, be more velvet and a nicer sink. Compared to the cramped accommodations on charter flights, this is a breeze.

Not really all that horrible, is it? Thank goodness I got a glimpse of Elvis dressed for the holidays.

The plane’s winning bid at auction is currently $260,000. The auction took place on January 8 at the Florida-based Mecum Kissimmee Collector Car Auction.

The new owner made anonymous phone bids.
