Rest in peace… gone too soon

At 89 years old, Elizabeth Hubbard passed away.

Her passing was revealed on Facebook by her son on Monday morning. Jeremy Bennett wrote under a picture of Hubbard, “With a broken heart, I’m sorry to say that my mother passed away over the weekend.

He said, “Thank you for being a rock that helped me through life. “I promise to live the rest of my life trying to honor your memory.” lovingly and fervently. Jeremy”

No immediate cause of death was mentioned.

Martha Byrne, a TV star, paid tribute to her mother on Instagram after Hubbard passed away. “Elizabeth Hubbard died, as many of you are learning this morning. I want everyone to know, first and foremost, that I made sure she knew how much everyone loved her. Working with Hubbard on As the World Turns, Byrne writes, “Every time I met her, I would share your social media comments, videos, and fond memories of her as Lucinda, Althea.

There are no words to express how much she meant to me personally. She enjoyed the audience and battled valiantly to bring truth and honesty to her performances. Simply feelings, which frequently trump terminology relating to love,” she continued. Here are our final words, which were spoken just a few days ago. I’ll share more so that we may all grieve together. Do you comprehend all that Liz has done for me? I queried. You can accomplish more, she said. She is right; because of all Mom has done for me over the past 38 years and the courage and fearlessness with which she has lived her life, I CAN AND WILL DO MORE.

I’m excited to talk more about her life, which entails so much more than just her AMAZING daytime television job, said Byrne. She added, “I attempted,” when I told her how much her fans loved her. She gave her everything. She didn’t touch anything off the screen. I’ll miss her every day, but I’m grateful that the universe gave me such a unique natural force that no one else will ever experience.

For her part as Dr. Althea Davis on The Doctors, which aired from 1964 until 1982, Hubbard received widespread acclaim. She appeared in 2741 episodes of the program in all.

She achieved great fame for her portrayal of Lucinda Walsh in the 1975–2010 television series As the World Turns. She showed up in the 1975 episodes of the program.

Her most recent appearance on TV was in nine episodes of the soap opera Anacostia, which aired between 2015 and 2018. She played Eva Montgomery.

Hubbard’s prominence on daytime television earned her 11 nominations for Daytime Emmy Awards. She won a Daytime Emmy for Best Actress in a Daytime Drama in 1974 for her work as Dr. Althea Davis. She was nominated for an Emmy in 1967 for her work in First Ladies Diaries: Edith Wilson as Outstanding Actress in a Daytime Drama Special.

Hubbard received a lifetime achievement award from Gold Derby in 2015. Although she did not take home any of the 11 Soap Opera Digest awards, she was nominated for them.

In one of her last official interviews with Soap Opera Digest in 2015, Hubbard praises her faithful fanbase.

“I really love them. They are close to my heart. I wanted to let the fans know that I appreciate them and still read the poetry I sent them because I love and respect them, she said. I’ve dated a lot of guys, but I have a secret crush on the fans.
