BREAKING NEWS: Musician accused in shocking attack

A shocking and violent incident has rocked the music world after a former member of a major rock band was arrested on serious criminal charges.

Brady Ebert, a founding guitarist of the Grammy-winning band Turnstile, has been arrested and charged with attempted second-degree murder and first-degree assault following an alleged attack on the father of the band’s lead singer.

The incident reportedly took place on March 29, 2026, in Silver Spring, Maryland, when Ebert allegedly struck William Yates—the 79-year-old father of frontman Brendan Yates—with his car outside the family’s home.

According to police and witness accounts, the situation began with a heated confrontation. Ebert allegedly arrived at the residence, shouting and behaving aggressively before driving away, only to return moments later. Authorities say he then accelerated his vehicle toward Yates, hitting him and causing severe injuries, including significant trauma to his legs.

Disturbingly, reports indicate that Ebert may have returned to the scene again after the collision, allegedly telling the victim that he “deserved it.”

Emergency responders transported William Yates to a hospital, where he underwent surgery. He is currently recovering from serious injuries sustained in the attack.

Ebert, 33, was arrested days later and is being held without bond, with a preliminary hearing scheduled in the coming weeks.

In court, the former musician has denied the allegations, claiming the incident was an act of self-defense, though prosecutors and a judge have described the attack as deliberate and targeted.

Turnstile, one of the most successful hardcore bands of its generation, confirmed that they cut ties with Ebert in 2022 due to what they described as a “consistent pattern of harmful behavior” and escalating threats.

The band released a statement expressing relief that Brendan Yates’ father survived the incident, while also condemning Ebert’s actions and asking for privacy during a difficult time.

The case has stunned fans and the broader music community, as more details continue to emerge about the violent confrontation and the history between the former bandmates.

Authorities say the investigation remains ongoing as the legal process moves forward.
