YOU THINK YOU’RE SMART. CHECK YOUR GARAGE.

I found it by accident.

An orange extension lead snaked from my neighbor’s garage… straight into the outdoor socket on the back of my house.

I marched over and knocked.
When he opened the door, I pointed at it. “That’s my power. It’s on my meter.”

He smirked like I was being dramatic. “Relax. It’s only pennies.”

That night, I installed a lockable cover over the socket and went to bed feeling proud of myself.

The next morning, I opened my mailbox and saw a folded note inside.

YOU THINK YOU’RE SMART.
CHECK YOUR GARAGE.

My stomach dropped.

I ran out back, heart pounding… and threw open the garage door.

At first, everything looked normal.

Then I saw it.

A brand-new extension lead…
running from my wall outlet…
into a small black box…
with a blinking red light.

And taped to it was a second note:

“Since you locked the socket… I found a better one.”

I froze.

Because the box wasn’t charging anything.

It was recording.
