I used to think she was the most beautiful girl ever

Who among you has watched “The Partridge Family”? If you were a fan, you were probably mesmerized by Susan Dey’s portrayal of Laurie Partridge’s attractiveness.

When she was offered the part in the ABC series, which ran for four years from 1970 to 1974, Susan had no acting experience, but casting her was the right decision since she was incredibly talented and felt at ease in front of the camera.

The singing family traveled from location to location to play in a refurbished psychedelic school bus, captivating a large audience. After it was finished in the United States, it was a big hit there as well, and the cast gained a lot of notoriety.

David Cassidy, who played Keith in the show and was Susan’s coworker, quickly gained the admiration of many young girls. One of the women that were fixated on him was Susan. She’d had a crush on him for a while, but they didn’t start dating until the program finished.

Until David authored his book, C’mon, Get Happy: Fear and Loathing on the Partridge Family Bus, in which he extensively described his connection with Susan, their romance didn’t survive for very long, and they remained great friends. Among other things, he said he broke up with her because she was too innocent for him.

That infuriated Susan. She also declined to show up for a cast reunion years later because she pledged never to speak to him again.

Since “The Partridge Family,” Susan has been in a number of movies and television shows. She has also written a book named Susan Dey’s Secrets on Boys, Beauty, and Popularity.

She was nominated for six Golden Globes and three Emmys before winning the Best Actress Golden Globe for her portrayal of Grace Van Owen in “LA Law.”

Olivia Newton-John, who played Sandy in Grease, was offered the role of Laurie in “The Partridge Family,” but her management reportedly advised her not to accept it. According to Worldation.com, Susan turned down the role of Sandy in Grease.

With her husband and their family, Susan leads a peaceful life in New York, where she was raised. She is no longer the center of attention, but she will always be regarded as someone who helped to make our youth special. No one ever forgets a sitcom like “The Partridge Family,” regardless of how much time has passed.
