Sadly, the family of Bruce Willis released this final message.

Bruce Willis has frontotemporal dementia, or FTD for short. The star’s family has confirmed this.

The 67-year-old star’s family stated in a statement issued on Thursday that while the news “is heartbreaking, it is a comfort to finally have a definite diagnosis.”

Currently, there is no treatment for the sickness, but we hope that will change in the future. The statement said: “As Bruce’s condition deteriorates, we hope that any media coverage may be focused on raising awareness of this disease, which deserves much more education and investigation.

Willis’ family, which consists of his wife Emma Heming Willis, ex-wife Demi Moore, and daughters, originally disclosed that he has aphasia in 2022. It was revealed at the time that Willis would be taking a break from acting due to a condition that was affecting his cognitive function.

Bruce, his family said recently, “always believed in using his voice in the world to help others, and to raise awareness about important topics both publicly and privately.” According to the statement, “We know in our hearts that if he could today, he would want to respond by bringing global attention and a sense of connection with those who are also dealing with this debilitating condition and how it impacts so many people and their families.”

According to the Mayo Clinic, the frontal and temporal lobes of the brain are the main regions damaged by frontotemporal dementia. These parts of the brain are frequently associated with behavior, conduct, and language.

“Detective Knight: Independence,” the third installment in the suspenseful “Detective Knight” series, and Willis’ most recent acting effort, were both released in January 2023. In addition, the action movie “Assassin” will be released the following month.

Willis and Heming Willis has two daughters: Mabel and Evelyn. He and Moore are both the fathers of Rumer, Scout, and Tallulah.

First-time parents Rumer Willis and Derek Richard Thomas are expecting a child.

Everybody Bruce knows has been motivated to be happy by his constant happiness. The statement continued, “To see that sense of concern returned to him and to all of us has meant the world.” “We are truly moved by the affection you have all shown for our devoted husband, father, and friend at this challenging time. Bruce will be able to live the fullest life he can with your continued compassion, understanding, and respect.
