Brad Arnold, the lead vocalist and founding member of the rock band 3 Doors Down, has announced that he has been diagnosed with stage four clear cell renal cell carcinoma, a type of kidney cancer that has metastasized to his lungs.

Arnold, the last original member of the group, asked fans for prayers and referenced their 2008 song “It’s Not My Time” as a source of personal strength.

Creed’s Scott Stapp wrote, “If anyone has the FAITH and STRENGTH to face this fight, it’s YOU brother. … .” Chris Daughtry commented, “Sending you love my brother,” and country star Jason Aldean added, “Man I hate to … .”

Clear cell renal cell carcinoma is the most common type of kidney … and its treatment often involves surgery, immunotherapy, and targeted therapies. The five-year survival rate for patients with stage four kidney cancer is approximately 10%.

Arnold’s resilience and faith have been central themes throughout his career. He overcame alcohol addiction in 2016 and has credited his Christian faith for his sobriety. In previous interviews, Arnold expressed deep appreciation for the band’s journey and the close bond with their fanbase, whom he called the “3 Doors Down family.”

Fans and supporters are encouraged to keep Brad Arnold in their thoughts and prayers as he embarks on this challenging journey.
