A man in his 40s just bought a brand-new BMW

A man in his 40s just bought a brand-new BMW and decided to take it for a spin on the highway. The top was down, the wind was rushing through what little hair he had left, and he figured—why not see what this baby can do?

As soon as he hit 80 mph, he spotted flashing red and blue lights in his rearview mirror. “No way they can catch a BMW,” he thought, so he pushed it even more.

90 mph… 100 mph… Then reality hit. Running from the cops? Probably not the best idea. So, he sighed, slowed down, and pulled over.

The officer walked up, took his license, and without even looking up, said, “Listen, it’s been a long day, it’s the end of my shift, and to top it off—it’s Friday the 13th. If you can give me an excuse for speeding that I haven’t heard before, I’ll let you go.”

The man thought for a second and replied, “Last week, my wife ran off with a cop. I thought you were bringing her back.”

The officer chuckled, handed him his license, and said, “Have a good one.” Then he walked away.

Moral of the story? Sometimes, the right answer can get you out of trouble!
