Trump Claims to Revoke Security Clearances for Biden, Harris, Clinton, and Others in Bold Political Move

In a dramatic and controversial move, former President Donald Trump announced that he has “revoked the security clearances” of President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, Hillary Clinton, and several other political opponents.

The declaration was made during a campaign rally and later echoed on social media, sparking a wave of confusion and debate.

“I’m taking action,” Trump said to a cheering crowd. “Joe Biden and his entire corrupt family, Kamala Harris, Hillary Clinton—all of them—they don’t deserve access to any classified information.”

However, legal and national security experts quickly pointed out that Trump, as a former president, does not have the authority to revoke security clearances of current officials or private citizens. That power lies with the sitting president and the federal agencies responsible for classified information.

While Trump has made similar threats in the past—most notably during his time in office when he did revoke the clearance of former CIA Director John Brennan—this latest announcement appears to be symbolic, aimed at energizing his base as the 2024 election season heats up.

Critics called the move political theater. “This is not how national security works,” said one former intelligence official. “Security clearances are handled through a formal process, not campaign speeches.”

The Biden administration has not responded directly to the claim but is unlikely to take the announcement seriously. Nevertheless, the statement adds to the increasingly heated political rhetoric leading up to the next election.

Whether symbolic or strategic, Trump’s bold declaration has once again stirred national attention—and deepened the divide between political factions.
