How to Share or Request a Location on WhatsApp (Legally and Ethically)
- Open WhatsApp and go to the chat with the person you want to share your location with.
- Tap the attachment icon (paperclip) in the chat box.
- Select “Location” from the menu.
- Choose “Share live location” if you want them to see your real-time movements or “Send your current location” to share your exact spot at that moment.
- If you want to request someone’s location, simply ask them to follow these steps in your chat.
Alternative Ways to Find Someone’s Location (With Permission!)
- Google Maps Location Sharing: You can request someone’s location via Google Maps by asking them to share it with you temporarily.
- Find My Device (Android) or Find My iPhone (iOS): If the person has given you access, you can locate their phone using these features.
